Biography

Tammy Gillis is an award-winning actress and an indisputable talent powerhouse who has so far appeared in over 50 roles across a variety of acclaimed film and television projects. She appears in a recurring role as the determined Deputy Marissa Staub on FreeForm's "Siren", nominated in 2018 by the Teen Choice Awards for Choice TV Breakout Show. Growing up in rural Manitoba, Tammy showed an early interest in her craft and began acting in school plays. Not long after, she was discovered by a modelling scout while attending university and was cast in a series of commercials for Greenkids. She then found herself on the set of Canadian legend Guy Maddin, and appeared in his inspired short film, HEART OF THE WORLD. Since then, Tammy's acting career has continued to grow. Her appearances include recurring roles on a variety of hit television series including CTV's "Motive", The CW's "Supernatural", Showcase's "Lost Girl", Bravo's "Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce", SYFY's "Continuum", ABC's "Once Upon A Time' and Spike's "Blue Mountain State" as well as many more. Tammy has also recurred on the critically acclaimed award-winning HBO series "Less Than Kind", CBC's "jPod", the E! Network's "The Arrangement" and Leo Award winning SYFY series "Ghost Wars". Tammy has also been a dynamic and exciting presence on the big screen. She had a multi-award winning performance in the indie feature film MENORCA. Tammy's portrayal of Claire, a hedonistic soccer mom that goes on a journey of self-discovery to win back her son has won her four "Best Actress" awards: the 2017 UBCP/ACTRA Awards, The Black Sea Film Festival in Romania, the Noida International Film Festival-17 in India and the Solaris Film Festival-17 in Nice, France. In addition, Tammy earned a Leo Award nomination in 2017 for "Best Lead Performance by a Female in a Motion Picture" for her staggering performance. This nomination is her second, as she was previously nominated for a Leo Award in 2016 "Best Performance by a Female in a Dramatic Series" for her work on UpTV's "Ties That Bind".
